We left Pingyao with its narrow streets and alleys full of small restaurants and shops and as on our arrival the hotel laid on a top notch car for our 20 minute journey to the railway station.

After hearing a few “ooh’s and ah’s” from the back seat it became apparent that Gary and Diane had found the controls for the massage function so common in Chinese cars.
For only paying £30 per night in a 15th century courtyard hotel including breakfast it was great to get a courtesy car to and from the hotel.

So we set off on the first of 3 trains today to reach our destination of Luoyang Longmen.
Pingyao Gucheng to Talyuannan, then changing trains to get to Zhenzhoudong and finally a short ride to Luoyang Longmen and our hotel for 2 nights, the, jijia Meisu with 2 great rooms for just £24 per night. Each had a 100” projector TV as well.
On the train I booked our entry tickets to the grottoes, oh the internet makes things so easy these days, and all in English!

Well that’s just a short post today and hope you will join us tomorrow for our visit to the world famous Longmen grottoes.
