Day 18 – April 6th – Sanya

Sanya – China’s tropical resort

After a great couple of days in Haikou, situated in the north of Hainan we took a short 2 hour high speed train ride south to the tropical resort of Sanya.

The railway line goes in a circular routearound the island and we chose the anti-clockwise route to sanya , it being an hour shorter than going clockwise.

Arriving at Sanya was the usuual hubble of taxis and Didi’s and soon we arrived at our hotel, the ‘Four Points by Sheraton’ right scross from the beach at Sanya Bay.

Sanya is also home to the 7 star ‘Atlantis Hotel’, where for £10,000 a night you can get a room where the windows face into the huge aquarium, a part of the adjoining Aquaventure Waterpark: A massive year-round park with 36 slides, including the near-vertical “Leap of Poseidon” that passes through a transparent shark tank.

Anyway, back to reality!

Had a spacious room
with a large balcony
drinks on my balcony
From our rooms we had a clear view of the phoenix Island resort
In the evening the hotel has a beautiful light show.

See you tomorrow for a day out.
